• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN or acute care RN experience
• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• Current BLS certification
• Strong post-op nursing experience and sound clinical judgment
• Excellent critical thinking skills with a team-first mindset
• Ability to provide compassionate bedside nursing care and ask for assistance when needed
• Willingness to work nights, every other weekend, and rotating holidays
• Comfortable floating to similar-level units as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to post-op surgical, trauma, overflow medical, and complex acute care patients
• Perform dressing changes, wound care, IV therapy, pain management, and management of drains and NG tubes
• Monitor patients with central lines and TPN while maintaining strong clinical awareness
• Collaborate closely with charge nurses, house supervisors, PCTs, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Support patient care across a 63-bed surgical acute environment with varied acuity
• Assist with telemetry patients as needed, following unit workflow and established procedures
• Deliver excellent communication, professionalism, and teamwork throughout each shift
• Float to appropriate units when needed based on experience and staffing needs
