Description

American Traveler is hiring a Medical Surgical RN for a rotating day/night shift assignment requiring a PA or compact RN license and at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience.

Details

• Work on a Medical Surgical unit
• Rotating 12-hour day/night shifts, with possible accommodation for straight nights
• Patient ratios of 1:6-7
• Weekend requirement of 4 shifts per contract
• May float within scope to meet facility needs as needed
• May be required to float to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if needed
• Cerner EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active PA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, port access, blood product administration, and line management preferred
• Experience with GI, respiratory, genitourinary, and renal patient care skills preferred
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and cardiac monitoring preferred
• Experience managing dysrhythmias and using rapid response/code teams preferred
• Experience in orthopedics, neurological/psychiatric, and endocrine/metabolic care settings preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across a varied Med/Surg case mix including gastrointestinal, respiratory, genitourinary, orthopedic, and neurological conditions
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• Local candidates within the radius are not accepted
• Candidates must be available to work every other holiday
• Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers
• All time off requests must be submitted at time of consideration and are subject to approval based on unit needs
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Travel pairs may be accommodated based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed
