Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse in the area. This role involves providing direct patient care for individuals with various diagnoses, including congestive heart failure, hypertension, chest pain work-ups, COPD exacerbations, asthma, pneumonia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure. The position requires delivering high-quality nursing services in a fast-paced environment, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details
- Position: Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse
- Location: Area within a 60-mile radius (specific facility details omitted for privacy)
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association), minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, RN license to submit, must have TNCC and NIHSS certification
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with titrating drips such as analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives; ability to read telemetry strips; familiarity with EPIC electronic charting system
- Responsibilities: Titrate and monitor patient drips, read telemetry strips, manage patients with complex medical conditions, utilize telemonitoring equipment such as Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, vents, and others, participate in self-scheduling and block scheduling, and work scheduled weekends and holidays.
- Additional Information: The unit handles patients with diagnoses including CHF, hypertension, chest pain, COPD exacerbations, asthma, pneumonia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure. The unit may float within zone 1 based on department needs and requires the charge nurse to take assignments. The charge nurse also takes on bedside responsibilities.
