Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Telemetry RN for a float pool position requiring MA licensure, Level I trauma experience, and prior travel experience.

Details

• Float pool position supporting 15 medical-surgical units within a 600-bed facility
• Specialties include neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, gyn, gu, hips and joints, oncology, and transplant (liver, kidney, vascular)
• Patient ratios average 4:1 on days and 6:1 on nights
• Unit-specific procedures include 12-lead EKGs, lasix drips, blood transfusions, and telemetry monitoring
• RNs may be assigned to a different unit every 2-3 weeks, sometimes with as little as 2 hours notice before shift start
• Rotating 12-hour and 8-hour shifts (days/nights), with every other weekend and holidays required
• No set schedule provided, though RTO is honored
• No call required
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 3+ years of related RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Level I trauma experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Teaching hospital and specialty area expertise preferred
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to navigate web-based applications required

Additional Information

• Assigned to the medical-surgical float pool supporting multiple units within the facility
• Respiratory therapists manage ventilators, while RNs are responsible for administering nebulizers
• Weekly orientation held every Monday, barring holidays
• Pass/Fail Tele/ECG and Medication testing required
• Required vaccinations include COVID (with booster) and Flu, with medical exemptions allowed
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• Previous BILH employees (travel, perm, or per diem) must complete a 6-month break before returning to any BILH facility
• Maximum of 3 days RTO allowed; no holiday RTO approved
• Public transportation available for commuting to the facility
