Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool RN with active MA licensure who is willing to float across 8 units on a rotating shift and every-other-weekend schedule.

Details

• Float pool position covering Med/Surg Telemetry units throughout the hospital, including Davenport 5, 7, 8, 9, ED, PH6/7, Pingree 4, and Overflow
• 371-bed hospital with unit census ranging from 8 to 41 beds
• Care for ED boarder patients, act as medication nurse in the acute mental health unit, and care for non-vented, transfer-ready ICU patients
• Clinician to patient ratio up to 5:1 on days/evenings and up to 6:1 on nights
• 36 hours per week on a rotating Days/Evenings schedule with 1 to 3 rotations to Nights per contract, plus every other weekend
• Shift hours are 19:00-07:30
• EPIC EMR used for charting
• Free on-site parking available

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required, NURSYS and BON verification required, conditional/pending licenses not accepted
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• 2 years of acute care hospital experience in one location required
• 2 years of experience working as a Traveler required
• Telemetry monitoring experience required, including measuring intervals and interpreting strips every 4 hours
• TR Band experience required
• Must be able to perform cardiac drips and read telemetry strips
• Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed

Additional Information

• Responsible for cardiac monitoring, cardiac drips, and reading telemetry strips
• Must be willing to float between 8 different Med/Surg Telemetry units as needed
• Local candidates must reside within 60 miles of the facility in Boston
• UKG/Kronos used for timekeeping
