Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 32-bed Ortho/Neuro unit requiring telemetry strip interpretation and an active MA RN license.

Details

• 32-bed private Ortho/Neuro Med/Surg unit admitting all other medical overflow patients
• Patient population includes scheduled elective Orthopedic and Neuro/Surg patients, fractures, and general medical overflow
• Clinician to patient ratio is 1:4 (up to 5) on day/eve shifts and 1:5-6 on night shift
• Uses EPIC for charting
• Night shift schedule of 19:00-07:30 on a 36-hour, every other weekend basis
• Night positions do not rotate, though day rotators may be scheduled between 7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a shifts as needed
• Low-frequency shift rotation for day positions
• Floating required to applicable units when requested

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required (no conditional or pending licenses accepted)
• AHA BLS certification required; AHA ACLS preferred
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips required
• Med/Surg RN skill set with neuro assessment competency required
• Minimum of 2 years experience in one location and 2 years experience as a traveler required
• Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed

Additional Information

• Provide Med/Surg nursing care with a focus on telemetry monitoring and neuro assessment for Ortho/Neuro and overflow medical patients
• Local candidates must reside within 60 miles of the facility, at a reduced rate compared to the standard travel rate
• Uses UKG/Kronos for timekeeping
• Parking is not validated at Boston locations; public transportation or paid public parking is available
