Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a PA or compact license and at least 1 year of relevant experience.

Details

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit setting
• Day shift (3x12, 7:00-19:00) or Night shift (3x12, 19:00-7:00) available
• Day shift ratios of 1:5-1:7, or 1:6 with LPN support
• Night shift ratios of 1:6-1:8, or 1:8 with LPN support
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active PA or compact RN license required in hand
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Experience with oxygen administration and respiratory support equipment preferred
• Experience managing cardiac drips without titration
• Familiarity with isolation precautions and PPE use
• One supervisory reference from within the past year required for consideration
• Completion of lab work within 72 hours of signing contract required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg Telemetry environment, including monitoring for dysrhythmias and utilizing rapid response/code teams as needed
• Any charting system experience accepted, though prior experience is preferred
• Candidates must complete PA fingerprinting and ChildLine clearance within 48 hours of signing a contract, and this process must occur in PA
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are not eligible for this position
• Previous Penn Highlands Healthcare perm or per diem employees must have been separated from employment for at least 18 months before applying as a traveler
