Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring a PA or compact RN license and at least 1 year of experience.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Patient ratios of 1:5-1:7 days and 1:6-1:8 nights, with LPN support included in higher ratios
• Must be willing to rotate schedules if needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA state or compact) required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral/central line care
• Experience managing telemetry monitoring, cardiac drips, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Experience with respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and oxygen administration preferred
• Experience with GI and renal care including feeding tubes, ostomy care, and hemodialysis management preferred
• One supervisory reference within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for a Med/Surg Tele population, including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Utilize isolation precautions and appropriate PPE as needed
• Fingerprinting and ChildLine registration must be completed in PA within 48 hours of signing a contract
• Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of signing a contract
• Previous perm or per diem employment at Penn Highlands Healthcare must be disclosed, with an 18-month break required before returning as a traveler
