Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Telemetry RN for a night shift contract role on a neuro medical/surgical unit requiring NIH Stroke certification and TX or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Neuro medical/surgical unit within a hospital setting with 30 beds and approximately 60 staff
• 12-hour night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• No call requirements
• 4 weekend shifts per schedule required
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Unit equipment includes Welch Allyn vital signs monitors, COWs, Hoyer lifts, PCA pumps, CareView Virtual Sitter, Telepsych, and Teleneuro
• Common procedures include Stroke NIH assessments, EEGs, gastric decompression, and wound care

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Med Surg/Telemetry
• BLS certification required
• NIH Stroke certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• Professional reference required (two references required for FL and MO)

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a busy neuro med/surg telemetry unit alongside RNs, LVNs, PCTs, and CNCs
• Team-oriented and self-motivated candidates are encouraged to apply
