Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Level 1 trauma acute care hospital, requiring 2+ years of med/surg experience and an active ND or compact RN license.

Details

• Acute care Level 1 trauma hospital setting on the 5SE Med/Surg unit
• 47-bed unit caring for medical surgical and surgical oncology patients
• Nurse to patient ratio of 5:1 on day shift and 6:1 on night shift
• 12-hour day shifts with every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Home unit is 5SE but may float to any med/surg unit on any campus
• Uses Epic EMR along with AccuDose, bladder scanner, Phillips monitors, and telemetry equipment

Requirements

• Active ND or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification through AHA required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical experience required, ideally in a hospital with 200+ beds and a Level 2 or higher trauma center
• Travel nursing experience required unless candidate has multiple years of experience in a large Level 1 trauma setting
• Epic EMR experience required
• Surgical oncology experience preferred but not required

Additional Information

• Collaborate with interprofessional colleagues including physicians to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Practice within full scope of nursing expertise using age and population specific standards
• Unit orientation includes 1 day of lead center training followed by two 12-hour shifts with a preceptor
• Navy blue scrubs required
• All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
• Candidates living between 60 and 80 miles from the facility may be considered at a reduced local pay rate
• Previous Sanford Health employees must have an end date at least 6 months prior to application
