Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg
Position Description
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic Med-Surg team. This role guarantees 48 hours of work and is set to start on December 14th.
Unit Information
Our Med-Surg unit is designed to provide optimal patient care and support. Here are key details:
- Number of Beds: 32
- Number of Staff: 49
- Day Shift Staff: 1 charge nurse, 6-8 RNs, 4 patient care technicians (PCTs), 1 unit secretary
- Night Shift Staff: 1 charge nurse, 6-8 RNs, 4 PCTs, 1 unit secretary until 10 PM
- Patient Ratios: 1:4 with total patient care; 1:5 with PCT; can go up to 6 patients with PCT at times
- Type of Equipment: Welch Allyn
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications:
- Must Have: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification; Basic Dysthymia class
Typical Procedures
Candidates should be familiar with the following procedures commonly performed on the unit:
- Total joint replacements
- Complex spine care
- Complex neuro surgery cases
- General surgery

Additional Details
- Floating Areas: Med/Tele; Surgical Specialty floor
- Dress Code: Royal blue top and bottom, with the option for black scrub bottoms
- Weekend Rotation: Every 3rd weekend
