Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Ortho/Trauma unit position on night shift requiring ortho experience and NIH Stroke Certification.

Details

• 23-bed Ortho/Trauma unit within a Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center
• Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
• Care for post-op knee, hip, and shoulder replacement patients, trauma patients, and occasional neuro overflow
• Unit staffed with Unit Secretaries and PCTs for support
• Uses traction, fixators, and cooling equipment
• Documentation via Meditech
• Night shift schedule, 7P-7A
• Schedule includes 3 12-hour shifts with 3 weekend shifts per schedule period
• Contract labor floats first to other Med Surg level units including General MS, Nephrology, and Neuro/Trauma
• Bedside shift report and hourly rounding required

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Med Surg/Ortho specialty
• Ortho experience required
• Telemetry experience and NIH Stroke Certification helpful
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Two professional references required for Missouri assignments

Additional Information

• Navy scrubs required as part of dress code
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
• First-time travelers may be considered
