Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Medical Oncology unit requiring OCN certification and at least 1 year of recent oncology experience.

Details

  • 6th Floor Med-Surg/Oncology unit with 36 beds
  • Patient ratio of 1:6
  • Cares for Med-Surg, Oncology, and Hospice patients, plus hemodynamically stable patients requiring cardiac monitoring without interventions
  • Utilizes Clinical Care Coordinators, RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretaries for support
  • Uses I-med, I-mobile, Neurons vitals machine, Glucometer, PCA, Wound Vac, Chest Tubes, and Surgical Drains
  • Documents in Meditech
  • 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Every third weekend required, no on-call requirements
  • Floats to Med-Surg and Telemetry for Med-Surg level patients

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Missouri or Compact) required
  • BLS certification required
  • OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification required for all RNs working in Oncology
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Medical Oncology experience required
  • No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
  • US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
  • Two professional references required for Missouri assignments

Additional Information

  • Performs wound vac changes, drain removal, IV/PICC line care, foley insertion/removal, and NG tube insertion/removal
  • Required uniform: Nurses in Pewter (gray), PCTs in Caribbean Blue
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
