Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN - Med/Surg for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring TX or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Details

  • Acute Medical/Surgical unit in a hospital setting
  • Patient population includes medical and surgical cases such as joint replacements, general abdominal surgeries, and spinal surgery
  • All adult patients, no pediatrics
  • Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Full time, 13-week assignment

Requirements

  • Active RN license in TX or compact
  • BLS certification required (AHA only)
  • 1 year of related nursing specialty experience preferred
  • BSN preferred

Additional Information

  • Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
  • Administers medications and treatments and monitors for side effects and effectiveness
  • Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given
  • Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers
  • Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rate
  • Previous CHRISTUS Health employees must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a travel assignment at any CHRISTUS facility
