Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring TX or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Details

  • Acute Medical/Surgical unit in a hospital setting
  • Adult patient population with no pediatric cases
  • Typical medical and surgical patients, including joint replacement, general abdominal surgery, and spinal surgery cases
  • Night shift schedule from 7PM to 7AM
  • Full-time, 13-week assignment

Requirements

  • Active RN license in TX or compact required
  • BLS certification (AHA only) required
  • 1 year of experience in Med/Surg nursing preferred
  • BSN preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
  • Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
  • Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
  • Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
  • Provide patient and family education and identify necessary resources
  • Make appropriate care assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rate, unless local acceptance is confirmed
  • Candidates previously employed at any CHRISTUS facility (non-travel) must have a 6-month separation before starting a new travel assignment
