Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift contract requiring BLS, telemetry skills, and hospital experience.

Details

• Work on a 32-bed Med/Surg unit at a hospital
• Patient ratios of 5:1 on day shift and 6:1 on night shift
• Unit staffed by RNs, LVNs, and PCTs
• Uses bladder scanners, vital sign machines, telemetry monitors, and patient lifts
• Documents in Meditech EMR
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend commitment of 4 shifts per month
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification
• Hospital experience required
• 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience preferred, 3+ years preferred
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• One professional reference required

• This is a new unit opening with no current staff in place
• No routine procedures performed on this unit
• Candidates should demonstrate openness to feedback and an owner mentality
• Navy blue scrubs with facility logo required
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
• First-time travelers may be considered
