Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring 4+ years of recent acute care experience and telemetry proficiency.

Details

  • Float pool position covering multiple Med/Surg and specialty units
  • M7: Med/Surg unit with ortho, urology, neurology, and GYN patients (30 beds)
  • 6W: Cardiology/telemetry unit (32 beds)
  • 7E: Surgery unit (30 beds)
  • CMS6: Cardio-thoracic unit (16 beds)
  • Average patient ratio of 5:1
  • Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) required
  • Most Fridays required with no specific schedule requests accommodated
  • Required to float and adapt quickly across different units

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • 4+ years of recent acute care experience required
  • Stepdown experience needed for night shift
  • Meditech experience required
  • Telemetry experience required, including ability to independently read telemetry strips
  • Must pass onsite telemetry exam on Day 1 with 84% or better (2 attempts allowed)
  • Must have 1 recent successful travel contract
  • Psych experience highly preferred
  • Epic experience strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of previous float pool experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide nursing care across multiple Med/Surg and specialty units as part of the float pool
  • No more than 5 days of RTO can be requested
  • No extended RTO permitted
  • Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility accepted
  • 50-mile radius rule applies for local vs. travel rate determination
