Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Level III NICU RN with therapeutic cooling experience for a 13-week travel assignment.

Details

• Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit setting
• Care for premature, critically ill, and medically complex neonates requiring high-acuity intervention
• Manage infants requiring advanced respiratory support including ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP/NIPPV, and high-flow oxygen
• Provide therapeutic hypothermia/cooling for eligible neonates
• Monitor and manage central lines, PICC lines, and umbilical lines (UAC/UVC)
• Administer and titrate IV medications, continuous infusions, TPN, and blood products
• 13-week assignment with a 06:45-19:15 shift schedule

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or Compact) required
• Current BLS (AHA) and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required; 3-4+ years of strong Level III NICU experience preferred
• Hands-on therapeutic cooling experience required
• Experience independently managing high-acuity, critically ill neonates
• STABLE certification may be required based on facility policy
• Nursys verification and primary source license verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive neonatal assessments and closely monitor changes in patient condition
• Recognize and respond quickly to neonatal deterioration and participate in resuscitation and stabilization efforts
• Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and the multidisciplinary NICU team
• Provide education and emotional support to parents and families throughout the infant's hospitalization
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Previous travel experience preferred, though first-time travelers may be considered
• Only one submission permitted per candidate across the health system's positions nationwide
