Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Level III NICU RN with therapeutic cooling experience for a 13-week night shift assignment.

Details

• Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit setting
• Care for premature, critically ill, and medically complex neonates requiring super high-acuity support
• Manage infants requiring advanced respiratory support, hemodynamic support, and therapeutic hypothermia/cooling
• Use of ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP/NIPPV, and high-flow oxygen equipment
• Monitor and manage central lines, PICC lines, and umbilical lines (UAC/UVC)
• Administer and titrate IV medications, continuous infusions, TPN, and blood products
• Night shift schedule from 18:30-07:00
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or Compact) required
• Current BLS (AHA) and NRP certifications required
• STABLE certification may be required based on facility policy
• Minimum 1 year of experience required, though 3-4+ years of strong Level III NICU experience preferred
• Hands-on therapeutic cooling experience required
• Must be comfortable independently managing complex NICU patients with minimal supervision
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Participate in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization and respond quickly to neonatal deterioration and emergencies
• Perform comprehensive neonatal assessments and monitor changes in patient condition closely
• Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and the multidisciplinary NICU team
• Provide education and emotional support to parents and families throughout the infant's hospitalization
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Local candidates accepted, though a radius rule applies which may affect pay rate depending on distance from the facility
• COVID vaccination is not required
