Description

American Traveler is seeking a Labor & Delivery RN with at least 1 year of high-risk L&D experience for a high-acuity, high-volume night shift position.

Details

• Work in a high-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit with 31 rooms/beds and 4 ORs
• Average daily census of 15 patients with 500-600 deliveries per month
• Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, adult recovery services for substance recovery, and community care clinic patients
• Utilizes electronic fetal monitoring and Epic EMR (hard stop requirement)
• Functions as Baby Nurse during delivery, providing newborn care until transfer to postpartum (hard stop requirement)
• Circulates for deliveries including C-sections (hard stop requirement)
• Administers medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Schedule posted every 6 weeks based on unit needs
• Required to work every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Float required to postpartum/antepartum units and may include sister facilities with Mother/Baby units

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience required, with high-risk L&D experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Epic EMR experience required
• Typical patient ratio of 1:1-2
• Skills should include labor and delivery management, high-risk delivery assistance, C-section circulation, newborn assessment and resuscitation, and postpartum care
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum stages including newborn care immediately following delivery
• Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Time off requests must be submitted upfront and are considered on a case-by-case basis
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility for standard travel rate eligibility
• Former permanent employees at this facility may return as travelers after a 3-month separation period
• Travelers may be required to float to sister facilities and should expect this as part of the assignment
