Nurse Midwife

Contract Details

15-week contract position available for winter planning.

Minimum Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required.
• Comfortable with and/or familiar with Perinatal Period (PP) care.

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Fetal Monitoring Certification

Skills Required

• Strong experience in Labor and Delivery (LD):
  • Perform cervical exams
  • Handle antepartum and labor processes
  • Administer amnio infusions
  • Provide epidural anesthesia
  • Conduct fetal monitoring
  • Insert IVs and administer Pitocin
  • Circulate during C-sections
  • Catch and receive newborns (required)
  • Administer APGAR scoring
  • Knowledge of breastfeeding support
• Post-partum Care:
  • Comfortable with all aspects of post-partum care from transition to discharge for both mother and baby.
• Scrub experience is a bonus; scrub trained RNs may be utilized for sick calls, although a Scrub Tech is always present on site.

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are considered.
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Epic (strongly preferred).
• Facility includes 20 beds total: 12 Labor and Delivery, 8 Post-Partum/Antepartum, with 3 OB/ED rooms and 2 ORs, plus a 6-bed Level II NICU.
• No call required.
• Teal scrubs will be provided.
• Preferred languages: Multilingual capabilities, particularly Russian and Spanish.
