Job Details

• Position: Travel Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
• Setting: Birth Center / Level II Perinatal Care
• Schedule: 12-hour nights
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Duration: 15 weeks
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
• On-Call: No
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,580-$2,720
• Location: Puyallup, WA

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification required
• Fetal monitoring certification or equivalent fetal monitoring competency required
• Strong experience with cervical exams, labor support, antepartum care, and postpartum/couplet care
• Comfort with medication management, epidurals, Pitocin, IV starts, and amnioinfusion
• Experience with Pyxis medication dispensing system required
• EPIC Stork or similar EMR experience preferred
• Must be comfortable working rotating weekends and adapting to a fast-paced obstetric environment

Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care for laboring, antepartum, postpartum, and couplet care patients
• Monitor fetal status, assess maternal condition, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Perform cervical assessments, support labor progression, and assist with medication and fluid management
• Administer and monitor Pitocin, epidurals, magnesium therapy, and other ordered treatments
• Support cesarean sections, triage, and high-risk deliveries as part of the unit workflow
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary care team members to promote safe outcomes for moms and babies
• Educate patients on labor, recovery, breastfeeding basics, and postpartum expectations
• Accurately document care in the electronic medical record and maintain medication safety standards
