Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Seattle, WA 98122
Start Date: November 16, 2026
Location: Seattle, Washington
Schedule: Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30). Work every other weekend and holidays as needed. Schedule posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs. 182-day assignment through May 17, 2027.
Highlights:
- High-volume, high-acuity Labor and Delivery unit with 550+ deliveries per month and 31 labor rooms
- Diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery
- Four operating rooms supporting all types of deliveries in a fast-paced teaching environment
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services
- 40 hours of orientation provided; first-time travelers accepted with appropriate experience
- Opportunity to work with electronic fetal monitoring (OBIX) and Epic charting system
Requirements:
- Active Registered Nurse license (Compact license accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
- High-risk obstetrical experience required; must be comfortable in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
- Epic charting system experience required (hard stop)
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP
- Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
- Must be able to function as Baby Nurse during delivery and provide newborn care until transfer to postpartum (hard stop requirement)
- Must be able to circulate for cesarean sections (hard stop requirement)
- Competency in newborn care including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments
- Experience with high-risk medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
- Patient ratio experience: 1-2 patients
- Willingness to float to Postpartum, Antepartum, and potentially sister facilities for Mother/Baby care
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years required
