Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Seattle, WA 98122
Start Date: November 16, 2026
Location: Seattle, Washington
Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30). Every other weekend and holiday rotation as needed. Schedule posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs.
Highlights:
- High-volume, high-acuity Labor and Delivery unit with 550 deliveries per month and 31 beds
- Comprehensive maternal care including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery
- Four operating rooms supporting all types of deliveries in a fast-paced teaching environment
- Interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services
- 26-week travel assignment with 36-40 hours of orientation
- First-time travelers accepted with appropriate experience
Requirements:
- Active Washington State RN license or Compact license
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
- High-risk obstetric experience required
- Epic charting system experience and electronic fetal monitoring (OBIX) required
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP
- Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
- Must be able to function as Baby Nurse during delivery and provide newborn care until transfer to postpartum
- Must be able to circulate for cesarean sections
- Proficiency in newborn assessment, vitamin K and eye medication administration required
- Experience with high-risk medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
- Willingness to float to Postpartum, Antepartum, and sister facilities as needed
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
