Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment on a high-risk L&D and antepartum unit requiring at least 1 year of recent L&D experience and an OR license.

Details

  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:00
  • High-risk labor and delivery unit that also cares for high-risk antepartum patients
  • 4-bay triage unit serving patients from 20 weeks gestation through 6 weeks postpartum
  • 12 labor rooms and access to 3 operating rooms with a 2-bay PACU
  • Patient ratio of 1:1 to 1:2
  • Float requirement within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals per unit needs
  • Epic charting system experience required

Requirements

  • Active Oregon RN license required
  • OR RN license required
  • BLS and NRP certifications required, ACLS also required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent labor and delivery experience required
  • Skills in L&D and postpartum care preferred, with ability to float to Mother Baby Unit
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood products required
  • Relias exam score of 85% or higher required
  • Traditional AHA certification copies required; RQI not accepted
  • Clear background check required with no license or background hits accepted
  • Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required; charge RN references not accepted
  • Complete 7-year work history including city, state, dates of employment, and PTO required
  • Proof of COVID vaccination required with no exemptions

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive labor and delivery care including assisting with vaginal deliveries, high-risk deliveries, and C-section circulating/scrubbing/recovery
  • Manage high-risk conditions such as preeclampsia, HELLP syndrome, postpartum hemorrhage, and preterm labor
  • Administer medications including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, insulin drips, and terbutaline
  • Perform fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal heart rate monitoring and IUPC placement
  • Support postpartum care including breastfeeding support, fundus/lochia assessment, and wound care
  • Refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no mile radius requirement
  • RTO must be submitted upfront and not exceed two weeks
  • Former OHSU employees or travelers must have been gone at least 6 months to be eligible to return, and require a reference from their previous OHSU manager
  • First-time travelers may be considered based on position specifics
