- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,160 - $2,270
- Unit Highlights: 31 beds, 4 ORs, average daily census of 15, and a strong focus on safe, team-based maternity care
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
- High-risk L&D experience required
- Current Registered Nurse license required; compact license must be in hand at submission
- Required certifications: BLS and NRP
- Epic charting experience required
- Must be comfortable circulating and providing newborn care, including assessments and newborn medication administration
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity obstetrics environment
- Must be willing to float to Postpartum and Antepartum as needed
- Must be able to commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays
- Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for laboring patients, including high-risk and complex obstetric cases
- Circulate for C-sections and assist with operative deliveries
- Act as Baby Nurse during delivery and continue newborn care until transfer to Postpartum
- Complete newborn assessments and support care such as eyes, thighs, and Vitamin K administration
- Monitor fetal status and respond quickly to changes in maternal or fetal condition
- Administer and monitor medications including Magnesium Sulfate, Insulin, and Heparin as indicated
- Support patients through vaginal and cesarean deliveries with safe, compassionate care
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and the multidisciplinary care team to promote excellent outcomes
- Document care accurately in Epic and follow unit standards and AWHONN-guided staffing practices
- Float to Postpartum, Antepartum, or nearby sister campuses when needed based on unit needs
