Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery (RN)

Position Overview

This is a contract position for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery. The role includes working night shifts with alternating weekends, providing care to patients in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The nurse will be responsible for ensuring optimal patient outcomes and assisting in various procedures related to labor and delivery.

Unit Information

• Location: North Austin, TX
• Number of Beds: 32
• Staffing: 150 staff members
• Patient Ratios: 1:2
• Equipment Used: Novii, JADA, Fetal Pillow, IUPC, FSE, Toco, US
• EMR: Meditech

Role Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for:

• Providing high-quality care during labor and delivery processes.
• Monitoring maternal and fetal well-being through intermediate fetal monitoring.
• Participating in various procedures including SVD, cerclages, C-sections, and TOLAC.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must have:

• Two or more years of nursing experience in Labor and Delivery.
• Current certifications in EFM, ACLS, BLS, NRP, SVE competency, and C-section circulation.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Competency in internal monitor placement.
• Previous experience with HCA assignments or employment.
• Experience in a Level IV unit with high volume.
