  • Shift: 12-hour nights
  • Shifts Per Week: 3
  • Schedule: Sunday through Saturday coverage with every other weekend and some holidays required
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
  • Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
  • Charting System: Epic

Job Requirements

  • Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license
  • Minimum of 2 years of acute care Registered Nurse experience in the specialty within the last 3 years
  • Telemetry, cardiac, oncology, and PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown experience required
  • ICU or IMC and surgical post-op experience required
  • Ability to work with IMC or general care patient populations if coming from ICU
  • BLS and ACLS certification through AHA required
  • Experience with Epic preferred
  • Must pass a telemetry test prior to start
  • Must be willing to float as needed
  • Experience with vent and transplant care strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to cardiac stepdown and thoracic surgery patients
  • Monitor telemetry and respond to rhythm changes, including dysrhythmia recognition and escalation
  • Care for post-operative thoracic and cardiac patients, including those recovering from procedures such as lobectomies, esophagectomies, decortications, and wedge resections
  • Manage chest tubes, central lines, arterial lines, IVs, and other complex patient care needs
  • Administer medications and titratable therapies according to unit protocols
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support safe, high-quality patient outcomes
  • Float between comparable units as needed
  • Support a team culture focused on critical thinking, innovation, and continuous learning
