Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position at a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of critical care experience and prior travel assignments.

Details

  • Cardiac ICU setting caring for Cardiac ICU patients plus overflow from MICU, Trauma ICU, and Neuro ICU with a cardiology focus
  • 1:2 patient ratio
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
  • Every other weekend required, with flexibility expected for unit needs
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating to other ICUs and boarder areas expected
  • Epic charting system required
  • 23 staffed beds on the unit

Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and Compliance EKG Exam
  • TNCC certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years critical care experience required
  • Prior travel assignment experience required, with at least 2 contracts preferred
  • Level I Trauma facility experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Charge RN experience preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory failure care
  • Experience with central line, arterial line, and PICC line management
  • Experience with cardiac drip titration and vasoactive drip management
  • Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and acute/chronic renal failure
  • Experience with EKG/ECG interpretation and dysrhythmia management
  • References must be from a direct supervisor, not a charge RN

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to cardiac ICU patients and overflow patients from other ICU units
  • Facility is a Magnet-designated, teaching, Level I Trauma hospital
  • Preference given to candidates with experience in high volume, high acuity, teaching, and trauma facilities
  • Manager prefers to avoid scheduling travel pairs together
  • Scrubs must be solid blue, either facility-provided or candidate's own
  • RTO limited to no more than 6 days, and cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
  • COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
  • Prior UW/Harborview staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restriction
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
