Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Night shift assignment at a Level I Trauma and teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of critical care and prior travel experience.

Details

  • ICU setting caring for Cardiac ICU patients with overflow from MICU, Trauma ICU, and Neuro ICU, focusing on cardiology
  • 1:2 patient ratios
  • 23 staffed beds on the unit
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:30
  • Every other weekend required, with flexibility expected for unit needs
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating to other ICUs and boarder areas should be expected
  • Facility prefers to avoid placing travel pairs

Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and Compliance EKG Exam (TNCC preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years of critical care experience required
  • Prior travel assignment experience required
  • Level I Trauma facility experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Skills in arterial line management, central line care, blood product administration, and IV therapy
  • Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory failure care
  • Experience managing cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, and dysrhythmias
  • Experience with CVVHD/CRRT and acute/chronic renal failure management
  • Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and post-craniotomy care
  • Two supervisory references required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Care for high-acuity cardiac ICU patients with cross-coverage of MICU, Trauma ICU, and Neuro ICU cases
  • Preference given to candidates with high-volume, high-acuity, teaching, and trauma facility experience
  • Scrub color is blue, facility-provided as needed or own solid color
  • COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
  • RTO should be kept to a minimum, with no more than 6 days total and none during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
  • Prior facility staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restriction
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
