Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU serving adult patients with high-acuity diagnoses including Sepsis, Respiratory Failure, Cardiac Arrest, DKA, GI Bleed, Cardiogenic Shock, Substance Abuse/Overdose, and severe Psychiatric conditions
  • Maintain a 1:2 or 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio within the ICU, adjusting to 1:4 or 1:5 when floating to Medical/Surgical units
  • Read and interpret telemetry strips as required for both ICU and float assignments
  • Float to Medical/Surgical units as needed, managing up to 4–5 patients per assignment
  • Chart and document patient care using the EPIC electronic medical records system

Required Qualifications

  • Active Massachusetts RN License required
  • AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of continuous adult MICU experience required
  • Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
  • Willingness and ability to float to Medical/Surgical units

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • 2+ years of continuous experience in a single MICU setting preferred
  • Familiarity with EPIC EMR
  • Experience caring for patients in a Level III Trauma Center environment
