ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in the Intensive Care Unit. This role requires critical thinking and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Shift Information

• 12-hour day shifts
• Weekends: Saturday and Sunday

Position Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for critically ill patients in the ICU setting.
• Assess, diagnose, and implement patient care plans while working collaboratively with healthcare teams.
• Titrate drips and manage complex medication regimens.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to critical situations promptly.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

Patient and Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 33 beds with an average daily census of 16 patients
• Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2-3 for adult patients
• Common Patient Diagnoses: Trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent care, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress

Operational Details

• Nurses are required to read and interpret telemetry strips, with oversight from tele techs.
• Floating may occur to PCU or MedSurg units, maintaining similar patient ratios.
• Holiday and weekend requirements apply: Minimum of 2 holidays during the contract, with every other weekend commitment.
• One shift of unit-specific orientation provided.

Additional Notes

Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas; refusal to comply will lead to termination.

RTO (Request Time Off) of 7 days or fewer is required upfront; additional requests may not be approved.
