Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU Nights position requiring a NM or compact RN license and at least 1.5 years of critical care experience.

Details

  • Work in the ICU on night shift, 4x12-hour shifts from 18:30 to 07:00
  • Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Weekend shifts required
  • May float to Med-Surg, Stepdown, PCU, ER, or CVICU with a cap of 4 patients while floating
  • Brief orientation provided when floating to like units

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NM or Compact) required, pending license accepted if obtained prior to start
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS (preferred), and NIHSS
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central/PICC line care
  • Experience managing ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, and HFNC therapy
  • Proficient in ABG interpretation, ETT/NT suctioning, and ventilator management
  • Experience with continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
  • Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and care of multisystem organ dysfunction patients
  • Experience with CVA/acute stroke management; EVD, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgery management preferred
  • Familiarity with hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun preferred
  • Epic charting experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients, including neuro and surgical ICU populations
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • Previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Travel pairs or groups not accepted
