Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Float Pool RN for a night shift role requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

  • Float pool position covering various Med/Surg units as needed, including Oncology, Orthopedic, Advanced Care, and ICU units where applicable
  • Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week)
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

  • Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temp license accepted)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
  • Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required
  • ASN required, BSN preferred
  • Level 1 Trauma center experience required
  • Epic charting experience required

Additional Information

  • Provides direct patient care across multiple inpatient units, completing assessments, care plans, and nursing interventions
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate high-quality patient care
  • May precept staff from various units as needed
  • Responsible for patient and staff safety reporting and hazard correction
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
  • Prior contingent workers may not exceed 1 year of continuous assignment without a required 6-month break in service before returning
