  • Shift Hours: 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.

  • Healthcare Setting: High-volume emergency department with approximately 210 daily visits, 86 rooms, and 115 beds
  • Patient Population: Adolescents, adults, pediatric, and geriatric patients
  • Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:3.5

  • Orientation: Orientation provided
  • Uniform: Navy scrubs
  • Additional Scheduling: Weekend coverage and floating may be required

Emergency Room Registered Nurse Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or a valid compact-state RN license in hand
  • At least 2 years of recent Emergency Room or Emergency Department nursing experience
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications
  • Experience in a Level I Trauma Center, stroke-certified facility, and STEMI-certified facility preferred
  • Graduate of an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
  • Demonstrated ability to care for trauma, psychiatric, pediatric, medical, and high-acuity emergency patients
  • Two professional references, including at least one reference from a manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leader
  • Ability to complete required credentialing and fingerprinting promptly before the assignment start date
  • Flu vaccination required; medical exemptions may be considered

Travel ER Nurse Responsibilities

  • Perform rapid assessment, triage, stabilization, treatment, and ongoing monitoring of emergency patients
  • Provide emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan, including adolescents, adults, pediatric, and geriatric populations
  • Interpret dysrhythmias and obtain and evaluate 12-lead EKGs/ECGs
  • Administer emergency medications, IV vasopressors, continuous sedation, and other prescribed therapies
  • Provide care for ventilated patients and those experiencing multisystem organ dysfunction or failure
  • Monitor patients undergoing procedural sedation and support emergency interventions
  • Manage arterial lines, central lines, blood products, IV access, and continuous IV therapies
  • Respond to trauma, stroke, STEMI, psychiatric holds, and other time-sensitive emergencies
  • Collaborate with respiratory services, pharmacy, interpretation services, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
  • Document assessments, interventions, reassessments, and patient outcomes accurately in Epic
