Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (ER)

Location: Austin, TX
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
 

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) for a 13-week travel assignment at a busy acute care hospital in Austin, Texas. This fast-paced Emergency Department cares for a wide variety of medical, trauma, cardiac, and behavioral health patients. The ideal candidate is a strong multitasker, team player, and thrives in a high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients of all acuity levels.
• Perform rapid patient assessments, triage, and ongoing monitoring.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
• Assist with trauma activations, airway management, resuscitations, and emergency procedures.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to emergency situations.
• Accurately document patient care using Meditech EMR.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

• Active RN License
• AHA BLS Certification
• AHA ACLS Certification
• ENPC Certification
• TNCC Certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Previous Emergency Room experience required
• Meditech experience preferred
• Trauma experience preferred

Unit Information

• 48 Private ED Rooms
• 27 Hallway Stretchers
• 9 Fast Track Beds
• 5 Behavioral Health Rooms
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:
  • ED: 1:4
  • Behavioral Health: 1:5
  • Cardiac/Trauma: 1:3

Schedule

• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Rotating weekends

• No on-call requirement
