Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring telemetry skills and prior trauma experience.

Details

  • Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department setting
  • Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Shift start time may flex up to 4 hours earlier or later based on urgent staffing needs
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred
  • Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days
  • Psych/Behavioral Health ED exposure

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license in hand required
  • Minimum 1.5 years (18 months) of ED experience required; 2+ years preferred
  • Level I Trauma Center experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
  • Preferred certifications: NIHSS, TNCC
  • Must be able to read and interpret telemetry/dysrhythmias
  • Skilled in respiratory care and care of ventilated patients
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response
  • Triage skills required
  • Must pass a Pass/Fail medication exam and a Pass/Fail telemetry exam at orientation (1 attempt allowed for each)

Additional Information

  • Responsible for triage, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and care of ventilated patients in a high-acuity ED
  • Study materials provided during compliance process and FDIs to prepare for orientation exams
  • Holiday coverage allows only 1 major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year) to be included in RTO
  • Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed in the first week
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate within a 200-mile radius
  • Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
  • First-time travelers are not required for this position
