Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department position requiring MA RN licensure and telemetry interpretation skills.

Details

  • Work in the Emergency Department of a Level I Trauma Center
  • Night shift schedule (4x12 hours), 11:00 PM to 11:30 AM
  • 48 hours per week on this shift
  • Shift start time may flex up to 4 hours earlier or later based on urgent departmental staffing needs, though this is rare
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license in hand required
  • Minimum 1.5 years (18 months) of nursing experience required; 2+ years preferred
  • Level I Trauma Center experience required
  • Must be able to read and interpret telemetry
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
  • Preferred certifications: NIHSS, TNCC
  • Skills in respiratory care, ventilated patient care, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
  • Triage skills required
  • Experience in Psych/Behavioral Health ED is a plus

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency nursing care within a high-acuity Level I Trauma Center setting
  • Complete a pass/fail telemetry exam and a pass/fail medication exam during orientation, each with one attempt allowed; failure results in immediate contract cancellation
  • Various study materials provided during compliance process and facility-directed interviews to help prepare for required exams
  • Complete pre-start and orientation modules, with additional annual modules required
  • Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
  • Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at the same bill rate
  • Travelers must have a 12-month separation from the health system if previously employed there
  • First-time travelers are not being considered for this role
