Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with an active MA license for a night-shift position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring telemetry proficiency.

Details

  • ER unit within a Level I Trauma Center
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
  • Shift start time flexibility of up to 4 hours is very rarely used, only for urgent staffing needs
  • Union facility, no special scheduling accommodations, must be able to work all 7 days of the week
  • EPIC charting system experience preferred

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license in hand required
  • Minimum 1.5 years (18 months) of ED experience required, 2+ years preferred
  • Level I Trauma Center experience required
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
  • NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred
  • Must be able to read and interpret telemetry
  • Skills in respiratory care, ventilated patient management, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management required
  • Triage skills preferred
  • Two professional references required, at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

  • Care for a Psych/Behavioral Health ED patient population as part of the unit
  • Must pass a Pass/Fail medication exam and a Pass/Fail telemetry exam during orientation, each with only one attempt allowed
  • Failure to pass either exam results in immediate cancellation of the contract
  • Study materials are provided during the compliance process and prior to orientation
  • One major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's) may be included in RTO
  • Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same bill rate within a 200-mile radius
  • Previous travelers from this health system must have a 12-month separation before returning
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
