Description

American Traveler is hiring a Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department RN for night shifts, requiring MA RN licensure and telemetry interpretation skills.

Details

  • Work in the Emergency Department of a Level I Trauma Center
  • Care for patients requiring cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and ventilator support
  • Provides triage and manages Psych/Behavioral Health ED cases
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Shift start time may flex up to four hours earlier or later based on urgent staffing needs, though this is rare
  • Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license in hand required
  • Minimum of 1.5 years (18 months) of ER experience required; 2+ years preferred
  • Level I Trauma Center experience required
  • Must be able to read and interpret telemetry
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
  • Preferred certifications: NIHSS, TNCC
  • Skills in respiratory care, ventilated patient care, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
  • Triage skills preferred
  • Must provide 2 professional references, one of which must be a Nurse Manager or higher
  • Candidates with priors on their nursing license will not be considered

Additional Information

  • Must pass a medication exam and a telemetry exam during orientation, each with only 1 attempt allowed; failure to pass either exam results in immediate contract cancellation
  • Study materials will be provided during the compliance process and facility-directed interviews to help prepare for required exams
  • Compliance documentation due 1 full week prior to start date
  • Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate within a 200-mile radius
  • Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
  • First-time travelers are not considered for this position
