Description

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Department RN for a Level I Trauma Center with evening shifts and 1-2 years of recent ER experience required.

Details

  • Emergency Department setting within a Level I Trauma Center
  • Evening shift schedule (3x12 hours), 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM
  • Shift start time may flex up to four hours earlier or later based on department need
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • Prefer candidates with OB experience and the ability to titrate cardiac drips
  • Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license required
  • 1-2 years of recent ER experience preferred
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
  • Preferred certifications: NIHSS, TNCC, and critical care drip titration
  • Preferred experience: Level I Trauma Center
  • Skills required: respiratory care, ventilated patient care, medication administration, continuous IV sedation, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
  • Preferred skills: triage, FHM, and psych/behavioral health ED experience
  • Two professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care to a wide range of patient acuities within a Level I Trauma Center
  • Must complete pass/fail medication and telemetry exams during orientation, each with one attempt allowed
  • RNs working in Mother Baby/Postpartum, Ambulatory, OR, SACU, or Psych units are exempt from the telemetry exam
  • Study materials will be provided during the compliance process and facility-directed interviews to support exam preparation
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate within a 75-mile radius
  • Candidates must reside within 200 miles for consideration
  • Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
  • Up to 14 days of requested time off may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week
