Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level II trauma center requiring TNCC and CPI certifications.

Details

  • 101-bed Emergency Care Center in a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center handling over 100,000 annual visits
  • Patient ratios typically 4:1 for medical patients, up to 7:1 for behavioral holds
  • Support staff includes techs for cardiac monitoring, internal processing, triage, and unit clerks on days and nights
  • Uses Baxter pumps and GE monitors
  • Charting completed in Cerner
  • Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
  • Every other weekend scheduling required, with schedule flexed to meet departmental needs
  • No block scheduling commitments
  • No floating outside the ED, but must be open to floating to all sections within the ED

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting
  • Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, and high-volume ED (100,000+ visits) experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS prior to start date
  • ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
  • No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more in the past 12 months
  • US SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • One professional reference required

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care across all ED sections including triage and behavioral holds
  • Deliver patient experience standards including AIDET, respectful behavior, and consistent updates to patients and boards throughout their visit
  • Navy scrubs required as part of the dress code
  • Attendance policy provided on first day
  • Department known for strong teamwork and a welcoming, multicultural team culture, serving a community with over 120 languages spoken
  • Previous HCA experience preferred
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
