Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for delivering patient-centered care to a diverse population, ensuring safety and effective treatment protocols are followed.

Unit Details

• Number of Beds: 101
• Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1; up to 7:1 for behavioral holds
• Available Staff: Technicians, Unit Clerks on days and nights
• Documentation System: Cerner
• Scheduling: Requires availability every other weekend; must be flexible to meet department needs
• Floating Policy: Open to floating within the Emergency Department

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Utilize advanced medical equipment and technology in patient care
• Provide support and education to patients and families during difficult times
• Practice exceptional communication skills with patients, families, and staff

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an emergency department setting
• Experience in a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center preferred
• Ability to demonstrate teamwork and provide real-time feedback
• Flexibility to adapt to various areas within the Emergency Department
• Certifications required before hire: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS; ENPC within 90 days of hire
