Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cardiovascular ICU RN with critical care skills including balloon pumps, Swan-Ganz monitoring, and ventilator management for a teaching hospital setting.
Details
- Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting
- 13-week assignment
- Day (7:00-19:30) and Night (19:00-7:30) shifts, 3x12 hours, 36 hours per week
- Weekday and weekend coverage required, up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (Saturday/Sunday for day shift, Friday/Saturday for night shift)
- Rotating holiday coverage required
- Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Estimated patient ratios of 1:1-2
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certification required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiac ICU experience preferred
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Skills required: IV starts, telemetry, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz monitoring, conscious sedation, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and PA lines
- Experience with arterial line management, central line care, and PICC line management
- Experience caring for post-cardiac surgery patients, CABG, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, and VAD patients preferred
- Experience with ECMO and Impella preferred
- Experience with CRRT/CVVHD preferred
- Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; second reference may be from a Charge RN; coworker references not accepted
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to complex cardiovascular patients including post-surgical and cardiac catheterization/intervention cases
- Work within a teaching hospital environment
- Complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly after signing contract due to strict state credentialing timelines
- Candidates residing outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to an in-state fingerprinting location soon after booking; those farther away will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet
- RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- Former employees eligible for travel assignments after 6 months away from the facility
- Current employees are not eligible for travel assignments at this health system
