Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring cardiac ICU experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting within a teaching hospital
• 13-week assignment on night shift (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• 36 hours per week with up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Estimated patient ratios of 1:1-2
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Epic EMR used

Requirements

• Active RN license, Ohio or compact, required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Cardiac ICU experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills required include IV starts, telemetry, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz monitoring, conscious sedation, balloon pumps, and PA line management
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular ICU patients including post cardiac surgery, CABG, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, and VAD patients
• Care for patients on ECMO, IABP, Impella, and CRRT as needed
• Manage cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and vasoactive/cardiac drip titration
• Perform sheath removal, epicardial pacing wire care, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for a travel assignment once away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for traveler positions
• Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon contract signing; candidates outside Ohio may need to travel to a fingerprinting location or complete a mailed packet
• RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
