• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric critically ill neuroscience patients

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin or a compact state
• Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience in a specialty nursing setting
• ICU experience required; neuroscience ICU experience strongly preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
• Basic arrhythmia and telemetry interpretation experience required
• Must be able to successfully complete telemetry testing before start
• Experience with ICU and IMC-level patient populations
• Strong critical thinking skills and comfort with high-acuity patient care
• Ability to float as needed within the care setting

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care for critically ill neuroscience patients in an 18-bed Neuro ICU
• Monitor and manage patients with stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and post-neurosurgical conditions
• Support advanced critical care interventions including hemodynamic monitoring and hypothermia protocols
• Care for patients requiring EVDs, lumbar drains, CereLink monitoring, and ICP-related interventions
• Interpret dysrhythmias and manage telemetry-based care with accuracy and confidence
• Administer and titrate critical medications and vasoactive infusions per protocol
• Maintain safe, evidence-based nursing practice while partnering with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team
• Promote infection prevention, patient safety, and excellent outcomes for complex neuro patients
• Float as needed to support unit and patient care needs
• Contribute to a team culture focused on collaboration, clinical excellence, and compassionate care
