Job Requirements

• Active RN license in Wisconsin or a compact state
• Minimum 2 years of acute care inpatient RN experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
• ICU experience required; neuroscience or neurosurgery experience preferred
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
• Epic charting experience required
• Basic arrhythmia and telemetry knowledge required
• Ability to successfully complete a telemetry exam prior to start
• Experience with critically ill ICU and IMC-level patients
• Strong critical thinking skills and comfort with float expectations as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care for critically ill neuro patients with diagnoses including stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and post-neurosurgical conditions
• Monitor and manage complex neurological and hemodynamic conditions in a fast-paced ICU environment
• Perform and assist with specialized interventions such as ICP monitoring, EVD management, lumbar drains, and hypothermia protocols
• Care for ventilated patients and manage therapies including vasoactive drips, sedation, and continuous IV medications
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and support safe, evidence-based patient care
• Float as needed and adapt to evolving patient acuity and unit needs
• Contribute to a supportive, team-oriented environment that values collaboration and excellence in critical care
