Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN Float for a Level I Trauma academic hospital, requiring WI or compact RN licensure and multi-unit critical care experience.

Details

• Critical Care Float position rotating across ICU units such as Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Burn ICU, and Trauma Surgery
• Cares for IMC/Progressive and general care populations in addition to ICU patients
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (1900-0730), with every other weekend and some holidays required
• 4x12 shift schedules will also be accepted if preferred
• Required to float across multiple ICU units as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA only)
• NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty being submitted
• 5 years of experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required, ideally within the past 12 months
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Academic/teaching hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with cardiac drips, vasoactive drip titration, and dysrhythmia management preferred
• Experience with CVVHD/CRRT preferred
• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing services across multiple ICU specialties in a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma academic medical center
• Must pass an adult and pediatric telemetry exam with defined passing criteria prior to starting, with up to two attempts allowed before additional review is required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates not accepted
• Parking permit required if parking onsite, though alternative transportation options are available
• Facility is recognized as one of the nation's leading teaching hospitals and referral centers
