Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring active TX or compact RN license and prior cardiac critical care experience.

Details

• 13-week assignment in a 28-bed Cardiovascular ICU
• Night shift schedule from 18:45-07:15
• Patient population is 80% cardiac surgery and 20% advanced heart failure
• Cares for high-risk cardiac surgery patients including open heart recovery, heart transplants, LVAD implants, ECMO, Impella, IABP, and CRRT
• Utilizes Swan Ganz catheters and CCO monitoring equipment
• Uses Cerner/COMPASS EMR system
• Float requirements may include MICU, SICU, or Medical/Cardiac Stepdown units
• Navy scrub color required for this unit

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA)
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
• Preferred experience with cardiac advanced device therapy management including IABP, Impella, and Swan-Ganz management
• Current license and primary source verification via Nursys required within 30 days prior to start
• Full Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two separate professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Deliver direct patient care as an RN, ensuring safe, evidence-based interventions aligned with clinical standards
• Implement and monitor individualized patient care plans, adjusting treatment to optimize safety and recovery
• Administer physician and nursing orders promptly while maintaining regulatory compliance
• Lead discharge planning efforts in collaboration with patients and the interdisciplinary team
• COVID-19 vaccination is not required
