Travel Nursing Job Details

- Schedule: Guaranteed 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour day/night variable shifts, including approximately 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
- Weekend and Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and every other holiday
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4
- Charting System: Epic
Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
- At least 3 years of recent clinical nursing experience
- At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment
- Associate degree or nursing certificate
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Epic charting experience
- Strong telemetry knowledge with the ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythms
- Ability to successfully complete an EKG examination during compliance
- NIHSS certification or experience is highly preferred
Travel RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients in an 8-bed observation and intermediate care unit.
- Care for patients with anemia, cellulitis, COPD, dehydration, and pre- and post-operative urology and gastrointestinal conditions.
- Monitor and manage cardiac, Cardizem, nitroglycerin, insulin, and heparin infusions according to established protocols.
- Perform frequent patient assessments, recognize changes in condition, and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Support a high volume of admissions and discharges for patients with stays of up to 48 hours.
- Float to inpatient units, including intermediate care and cardiac telemetry areas, as needed.
- Deliver organized, compassionate patient care while working independently and collaborating with ancillary staff.
- Adapt positively to changing patient needs, workflow demands, and unit priorities throughout each shift.
